Her completed directing work spans narrative drama, comedy and commercial storytelling. She is drawn to love at its most irrational, grief at its least polite, and the absurdity that appears when certainty begins to crack.

She wrote, directed and produced the six-minute drama The Talk, developed through the Valley Antiracism Film Project at Los Angeles Valley College. The film uses a father’s intimate monologue to examine medical dismissal, racial inequity and the authority denied to a mother who recognizes danger.

Hila came to filmmaking after business and motherhood—two environments that taught her a great deal about human behavior, resource allocation and people insisting that something is fine when it plainly is not. She holds an MBA from New York University.
